Brew #6
Started shortly after brew #5 was gone.
I call this the lost beer because I never wrote a report on it anytime during it's brewing or even shortly after. It's now officially WAY after, and I don't remember all the details.
It was an Irish Red made from a Grape and Granary kit. It had a can of liquid malt extract with a picture of a bulldog on the front and a bag of DME to go with it. Of course there was the other stuff, like hops and such. I do remember using Wyeast's 1028 which didn't give quite the head that I'm used to with the 1007 I also used my bottling bucket as the primary and then racked to the fermenting bucket for a secondary. That worked out OK, so I later bought a 5 gal bucket for secondary-ing next time.
The brew came out good, but again it had a slight chalky taste for the first few that later attenuated. I'm beginning to think that I should let the beer condition in the bottles longer than the usual 5-7 days.
